
What is it?
It is a 23,000 square ft upscale San Diego home improvement showroom in a prime location, just off Miramar Road in the Miramar Design District. The Home Ideas Center is where San Diego home improvement businesses, San Diego contractors, San Diego landscapers, San Diego builders, artisans etc. can display their products and services.
How does it work?
A booth space is rented on a semi-permanent basis in our San Diego home improvement showroom to showcase your products and/or services. This enables you to be as creative as you like. There are also sales offices and a conference/seminar room for your use.
Do I have to man the booth?
No. When San Diego homeowners arrive they are given either a scanner or contact information sheet and while they are viewing the exhibits they simple scan or circle the display number for each company they are interested in. As there are no sales staff on-site or brochures on display, visitors only request the product information that they are genuinely interested in. When they leave we obtain their contact information and give them a package with the brochures, flyers, and coupons from all the companies they have scanned. At the end of each day you are emailed the contact information for everyone who scanned your booth

How does this benefit me?
We give renewed hope to local home improvement companies that have been hit hard by the recent downturn in the economy. As business owners have to cut back on overhead and marketing, the Home Ideas Center offers you the opportunity to showcase your goods and services directly to the public in an innovative, inexpensive and exciting way. It also works well as a storefront at a fraction of the typical cost, without the expense of paying an employee to man it.
How much does it cost?
Anywhere from $500 - $1500 per month, with most booths in the $700 - $800 range.
Is this a new concept?
No. It is new to San Diego but not to the world. This idea was developed in New Zealand and has been overseas in Europe for decades. Due to the recent economic downturn, has made this concept more popular, where there are similar models operating in New Jersey, Utah, Northern California, Washington, and Arizona.
How do you market Home Ideas Center?
Home Ideas Center will be using multiple channels and vehicles to increase consumer awareness and drive traffic to the Home Ideas Center including but not limited to TV, radio, magazines, newspaper, search marketing via SEO and PPC, direct mail, email marketing, referral programs, and social media via Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. Also, the network of vendors who have booths and are using them as showrooms and meeting areas with their potential and current clients to create additional exposure will be utilized.
What else will you do to bring people in?
Home Ideas Center is building a partnership with San Diego Home and Garden Magazine (SDHG) in early 2010 and will be producing monthly themed seminars on timely subject matters based upon seasonality or trends in the industry featured in the magazine. (Ex. Green Friendly Home Improvement Alternatives) When appropriate, current vendors will be asked to participate in the monthly seminars. Marketing these seminars will done through the channels mentioned above as well as encouraging vendors to host “how to” workshops and other informational seminars. We provide the venue, you provide the content. Home owners associations, realtor groups, and other professional networks are also be encouraged to host meetings at Home Ideas Center.
Anything else?
Yes. You will be provided with valuable marketing tools to further develop your business, lead volume, and conversion rates. HTML ads and html email templates along with tracking systems and turnkey referral programs are just to name a few. Access to HIC group rates to local media, signage, and webinars for sales training and education on emerging technologies that can help you take your business to the next level will also be available.
Is there an admission or membership charge?
No. Entrance to the Home Ideas Center and parking are both free.
